Calling all youth leaders, students, and change-makers.
Join an 18-month fully-funded leadership and research fellowship under the PAHELA Project, implemented by the Centre for Peace and Justice (CPJ), BRAC University & Surge Bangladesh, with support from the Nagorikata: Civic Engagement Fund (CEF).
120 selected fellows will be trained as Peace Champions, conducting research, leading community action projects, and promoting peace, inclusion, and social cohesion across the Chattogram region.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria and commit to full participation in the Peace Champions Fellowship.
Residency
Must reside in Brahmanbaria, Chandpur, Cumilla, Feni, Lakshmipur, Noakhali, Chattogram, Bandarban, Cox’s Bazar, Khagrachhari, or Rangamati until December 2027.
Age Requirement
Applicants must be between 18–25 years old.
Educational Background
Students from Class 11 to recent graduates. Honours 2nd & 3rd year students are encouraged.
Interest & Motivation
Strong interest in peacebuilding, civic engagement, research, and community development.
Commitment to Inclusion
Respect for diversity, gender equality, and social harmony. Women, minorities, and persons with disabilities are encouraged.
Training Participation
Must complete the four-day Certificate Course on Peace, Meaningfulness, and Research Methodology.
Peace Café Formation
Collaboratively establish and operate a youth-led Peace Café in each district.
Research Engagement
Conduct FGDs, prepare reports, and collect survey data as a community enumerator.
Advocacy & Community Action
Organise district events and implement Community Action Projects engaging local communities.
Full Engagement
Participate in workshops, monitoring, evaluation activities, and attend the Closing Colloquium.
Core Training
Fellows complete a certified training course covering key leadership, research, and community engagement skills.
